Welcome to Wallis Studios. We’re a photography studio based in the west Costa Mesa neighborhood, just 5 mins from the beach! We think you’ll find us unique amongst southern California studios for several reasons:

The studio is run by an actual working photographer and is used solely for photography!

I rent the studio out to other photographers and companies who already have an in-house photographer or just need some space to shoot in. Most photographers do not have the need or budget to have a full-time studio.

I have been renting it out for about six years and have many repeat clients. The main advantage of having an experienced photographer run the studio is that I can solve or troubleshoot any technical problems you may have on the shoot immediately (I live 5 mins away). I can also recommend any technical and photo resources you may need.

Size really does matter

Who needs a massive bloated 12,000 ft studio with twenty assistants hurrying around? Why pay for that? I host a industrial style 1400sq. foot studio with high ceilings, comprising of a large shooting area, a changing-room/make-up area, and a comfortable lounge (with shag carpet!) to entertain clients, or hang out during shooting. We want you to feel like the studio is your own.

I hang around to make sure you are set-up and have what you need and then leave. I am always a cell phone call away if you need help.

We’re flexible

Wallis Studios is available for one day or up to a week. Rental clients include ABS, Oneil surf wear, Lost, Fox, Rusty and Split clothing, People Magazine and MTV, Paul Frank, Silver Star , USA Today , and Inc. Magazine.

Or you may be a freelance photographer or stylist just needing a fully-equipped studio. We can accommodate your needs.

We’re fully equipped

We have multiple colored paper backdrops for your use.

We have parking and security (alarm and patrol) so you can safely leave your set-up and equipment overnight.

I do have lighting for an additional $25/day: 3-4 Speedotron Blackline strobes and 1 softbox, umbrellas; also pocket wizards.

Lower Day Rates:

Rates are $200 for a 1/2 day (four hours or less) and $350 for up to eight hours.

Shooting late? No problem: for up to 12 hours the flat rate is $500.

All rentals require a signed agreement

Full payment is due on the day (before usage). We happily accept credit card through Paypal.com paid in advance.

Do you need a digital technical assistant to help out?

I can provide an excellent digital assistant who can make you look good and have everything run smoothly. He can assist with tethered shooting and on-site retouching/editing and selection of photos . He can also assist with lighting issues and maybe picking up lunch!

The rate for the tech is negotiable.

Want to shoot it yourself but you're not a pro?

Let me guess: you have a Canon Rebel (or Nikon equivalent) and want to shoot it yourself... I can set the lights up for you and meter the lighting no problem. I have done it many times for renters!
