A simple corporate headshot posing guide:

There are several pro tips I would recommend for getting good business headshot:

My number one rule is don't do a mugshot.

When you face a camera with shoulders square on it is reminiscent of a mugshot (with all the negative connotations) or a DMV Drivers Licence shot. Instead, turn your shoulders 10-30 degrees from the camera. Your face can still be straight-on.

The second thing to consider when posing for a corporate headshot is company guildelines. This is simple to figure out: just look at the current website and see what has been chosen in the past by the marketing department.

This serves as a great method to get a great headshot: What background are they using? What clothes are the executives wearing? Are they smiling or serious?

The third and final posing tip to consider is what is your vibe? This is a little harder. In photography personality can be difficult to show and this is where hiring a professional photographer can be key. I will generally spend time thinking of your company's image and your personal brand and will  work with this in mind.

Lighting & retouching are always important to any decent photo. A professional photographer will be well-versed in this and use the most flattering method to enhance your features. Feel free to look through my portfolio to see examples of headshot poses & lighting.
